It think COVID-19 highlights the income disparity and access limitations based on peoples wealth. If your kid doesn’t have a computer – zoom class isn’t an option. If you have to go to work, then having your kid at home taking zoom classes isn’t and option ( if they are young).
This goes on long enough low income /access kids will continue fall behind will be displaced even more.
If you look at COVID through the lens of a war-like era, we may need economic recovery on the scale similar to the marshal plan to catch them up
Problem is once a vaccine comes out and we start to shift back to school, there are kids who will be 1-2 years behind and there is no plan to catch them up.
